For those who haven't been following closely, when the protests first started on May 31st, the Turkish media broadcast a documentary about penguins instead of showing what was happening in Gezi Park. The penguins have now been used as a symbol for the #direngezi #direnturkiye #occupygezi #occupyturkey movement.
