Video: Song - sound of pots & pans / tencere tava havası
With my little sister's commentary (below) - her words are far more eloquent than mine could ever be, so I'm borrowing them to explain the video (above). Definitely worth watching.
A really beautiful song made in the protests, with English subtitles. At 9pm every night for almost 3 weeks now, people go out with pots and pans as a form of protesting and making sound. This is not a temporary form of resistance. It has almost hit 3 weeks now and will not stop until there is some change, which the current government is much to stubborn to do. People have now become used to joining the protests in the streets after they come home from work. A new lifestyle has erupted. Please watch to see how something so beautiful can come out of such ugly violence.

German television ZDF reports on events occurred yesterday at Gezi Park: "It's not over. This is the beginning of big protests still to come. Tomorrow the Gezi Park activists have called for a demonstration. They are expecting hundred thousands of supporters. We don't know whether they'll be able to come, because of the police barricades. Until now this place here was dominated by a festival atmosphere. Now I just see rage and anger. Rage against the police and against Erdoğan. Erdoğan who dared to disperse this peaceful atmosphere with the most brutal instruments. Hard times are expecting Erdoğan who himself unleashes this resistance."

- egeseninle - Ege [University &/or region] is with you = ie, you are not alone.
- The image at the end is one from the 1st days where a woman in a red dress is being pepper sprayed by police within inches from her face. It is one of the images which has become symbolic of the movement.

Journalist Tim Pool is streaming live from Istanbul today where anti-government protests have been ongoing since last Friday. What began as a campaign against the city's plans to construct a shopping centre in a public park has escalated into a massive display of anger over the ruling party's neo-Islamist social agenda and religiously driven laws. Riot police have moved in with brutal force, using tear gas on tens of thousands of protesters. It is the largest civil uprising in the history of Turkey.
